Miriam Block '77 and her female classmates made up one of the first groups of women to attend Exeter. During their time at the Harkness table, they became skilled at building on others' ideas while growing in confidence in themselves and their capabilities.

"If I have this kooky idea of becoming an artisan cheese maker after 25 years of high tech, well, of course I can do that," Block says. "Why wouldn't I be able to do it? That's definitely Exeter—you learn how to make what you need to happen in your life, happen."
