IMPACT RESEARCH AT BROWN magazine has been published annually by the Office of the Vice President for Research at Brown University since 2018. I was hired in August, 2021 with the charge to produce and elevate issue #5: 2022.

The cover story on climate change highlights Brown researchers taking action as Earth's temperature rises. The cover has a serendipitous origin—a Brown scientist was a lead coordinating author on the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) 2021 report and worked on a figure of data showing the impact of global warming on oceans and ice sheets, while separately, an environmental artist hired by the IPCC to create the cover for their report had also created a piece inspired by the same figure of ocean impact, and that artwork is the cover.
