How can learning leaders,…

How can learning leaders, passionate about driving business value make the most of the sea of generic learning resources available?

I've been asked a version of this question several times in the last few weeks, and I'd love to know what you think!

My friends are 100% committed to supporting performance, impacting business results (not learning engagement), willing to ask tough questions and challenge the status quo- that is not the issue. The context is one of reality! They just don't have the status or influence to throw the current L&D strategy out and start again!

Whilst they know their job isto support learning , not just provide content, they know also that they are surrounded by a sea of generic learning content that could serve them better: great online libraries, in house programmes that have been carefully crafted by central experts but not necessarily for local needs.

They want to make smarter use of the resources available in order to make a difference to the performance and lives of individuals and teams that are in their own sphere of influence.

So, what really practical advice would you give them to make optimal use of generic content to build better business value?
